Regional Senate Elections 16 May 2019

The United World Republic recently held its Regional Senate Elections, held once every five years to determine the senators of the regional senates. In the Roman Imperium, the progressive party remains in majority, but the new socialist party has gained significant number of seats, from 167 to 199. The roman imperial party saw itself lose all but 1 seat in the senate. In the Sikarataka Federation, the neiKanaraiyoka yaPatiya Sikarataka yaFeideirasima reaches a majority in the sikarataka senate defeating the united party 214 to 198 seats. Kasinora yaPatiya has also gained seats, from a previous 13 to 55 seats. The United Party reinforces its majority in the central senate, moving from a previous 255 to 286 seats. The conservative party has once again lost support, falling from 154 seats to just 93.

Critics believe the increase in support for the imperialistic KPSF is due to the increasing diplomacy between the UWR and Yrsaland, a nation ruled under a monarchy. Sikarata, being in the past a monarchy, still has citizens who retain support for the royal family, which now largely abstains from politics. Interviews with Yinireista Sikaratama, the oldest living member of the old imperial household, note that the imperial family is not keen on returning to the throne.  The Roman Imperium's socialist party's reason for success is unclear, but experts put it to the increasing failure of the progressive party and the general liking in social policies, which the progressive party has insufficiently delivered.

More than 50 years ago, the Sikarata Empire and the Roman Empire each sent their own men, own probes into space, as far as Uranus (Talikina, as the Sikarataka Feira Loimipoma named it). The Romans wanted to launch a space station into orbit, but its plans were rudely disrupted by the Central Roman revolution. Now, 50 years later, the UWRMOS has launched more than 60 probes in total as well as 2 manned launches. The UWRMOS has plans for a large space space station to be constructed in orbit, through firing a single core, constituting of a battery and a thruster, to start off the system with sufficient velocity such that it maintain in circular motion. Subsequently further rockets will carry necessary materials and components, as well as workers or machinery to build on the space station, including solar panels, and more facilities. The UWRMOS will be looking for collaborators on this project, code named TerraS

Culture - The Sikarataka (Skrattain) Federation

The largest and 2nd most populated region in the UWR, Sikarata has a unique history, being a mostly separate culture from the the UWR.

Creation
The legends of Sikarataka creation center around the Sikaratama, literally, of Sikarata. Now, Sikaratama is title given to groups of people who claim to be rulers of Sikarata. However, this originated from the legend of Sikaratama, called yaTeira Sikaratama, yaTeira Kadus (Sikarata's world, our world), which speaks of the first Sikaratama striking the earth to separate the Sikarata from the barbarians of the north, hence protecting the people of Sikarata. Currently, 3 groups of people take the title Sikaratama, the ex-royal family, high ranking military commanders and Binfimranui of the SKF.

Construction
How Sikarataka was actually created was most likely due to natural rise in sea levels causing an archipelago to separate from the mainland. Kanarai Kanarai (Kanarai means king, and the first king is called Kanarai though people call this lineage yaKanaraiu (The Kings)) created a kingdom based around the largest island Kaichiga (literally, big city, archaically meaning big Island). This kingdom lasted until the Roman invasion in 117CE, where military demand reformed the Sikarataka yaneiKanaraiyo Kaichigama (Sikarataka Kingdom of Kaichiga) into the Sikarataka yaneiGankaiyo (Sikarataka dictatorship), which after successfully defending Sikarataka against the Romans, began to rapidly expand. However, it's harsh rule was unpopular, and it soon collapse, splitting into several sections, one of which has integrated into CSLYMY culture and the other continued as Sikarataka yaRepabik, borrowing the Romans idea of Republican Democracy. However, it was ineffectively done and it was soon reorganised into the Sikarataka yaneiKanaraiyo (Sikarataka empire), which was very aggressive and powerful. It lasted several centuries until a succession dispute split the empire into 6 parts (2 from different throne calims, 4 simply rebels). Eventually, they were reunited much later, where they once again attempted to expand as the Kasinora Sikarataka yaneiKanaraiyo (New Sikarataka Empire), but after repeated failures, they rebranded themselves simply as yaSikaratadirama (of the Sikarata land). It subsequently joined the United World Republic as a Specialised State.
