MIC RP #005: A New Frontier

Yrsaland was the second nation to put a man in space almost 60 years ago, and the NIDAVELLIR station, which has been permanently inhabited for 30 years, will be decomissioned in just a month's time.

Many Yrsk firms, such as the technology conglomerate SKALAR, have expressed an interest in constructing a new, improved space station, but this will be an extremely costly endeavour.

The Yrsk government is considering a collaboration with other nations to construct YGGDRASILL, a new space station which will serve as the beginning of interplanetary colonisation.

All nations are welcome to join the Cslymyian space project "Democratising Space", backed by many Cslymyian companies, both private and public as well as by the Cslymyian government. The scientifically literate populace also supports the project.

We invite the Dictatorship of Ling Ching to join us on our quest to dominate the skies above.

Yrsaland proposes a pact with Cslymy and the UWR to collaborate on our projects and form the Norderon Space Initiative.

Cslymy welcomes Yrsaland and the UWR to join its "Democratising Space" initiative, which can be labelled as a Norderon Economic Union Project
The goals of this initiative will be released later in a press conference.

Indeed, the UWR will be glad to ally with Yrsaland and CSLYMY in the space endeavour. Both the Sikarataka and Roman empires have attempted space travel but have collapsed to internal conflict before achieving success. The UWR seeks to build on the technologies of Sikarata and Roma. I propose that the space station be a joint project and that it be commonly used by spacecraft from all 3 nations. The UWR is hopeful with the democratising space initiate and awaits CSLYMYs press conference. We also propose to expand further to beyond earth and explore possibilities of harness resources on the moon and on Mars or Venus. The UWRMOS has been researching space construction techniques to construct structures in space itself. The UWRMOS will be sharing more on its latest developments in a press conference

The Cand Youkeonian National Space Coorporation (CYNSC) has in the past sent probes to many planets, including Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn and beyond. We are currently working on a rover to explore the surface of Mars and missions to explore the seas of Europa and Titan. The first manned Youkeonian space mission 22 years ago was also a success, and a moon landing was achieved 7 years ago. A modular space station is already in development, and partners in our quest to conquer outer space would be welcome.

Over the past two decades, the nation of Gabbard has devoted itself to planetary sustainability and green solutions to the problems facing humanity, and life all over Earth. In its higher education system, the nations leaders and governmental body has developed opportunities for students to study the most complex and pressing scientific curricula in regards to STEM fields.

The Democratic Republic of Gabbard, being an international leader in the fields of phytology, ecology, and stem-cell behaviors, has begun it's own research into a much needed and overlooked aspect of interplanetary travel: human survivability and habitation of biological organisms in new environments. In the nature of such things, Gabbardian officials have expressed interest in lending it's brightest minds and resources to the expanded efforts of multinational organizations in their pursuit for space research and travel. In manipulating the environments of specific plant life (gravitational changes, radiation exposure, and atmospherical gas changes), scientists and researchers have been able to further breeding and produce new crop varieties or lines with desirable properties. Reports and data from Gabbard have shown promising results with horticultural studies.

In commentary to the Gabbard National Review (the State media source), Minister of Science and Innovation Hinako Inui had this to say:
"Yes, this is a very exciting time indeed. Gabbard does not have the vested political or militarily interests as some of the other entities in this space race, however we are invested in the resources and knowledge other planets hold in store for us. In many ways, what we learn up there may very well help us create a better Earth. Thanks to the decennial periods of research and investment into biological fields, the nation of Gabbard hopes to aid international bodies in survival. More specifically, we must find ways to establish a healthy agricultural system wherever we hope to travel. The basis of any success for the survival of Earthly organisms (including human and any other multicellular eukaryotic organisms) requires the cultivation of healthy crop production. This means having scientifically-based research into plant breeding, soil science and plant nutrition. Only through this can these nations hope to create self-sustaining habitats in the long-run."

That is indeed a pertinent point we may have missed. Such technologies will greatly increase the possibilities for further manned travel and colonisation to the edges of the solar system and maybe beyond

I think there are better uses for a space station than as a prison

After 7 years of hard work, the super heavy reusable launch vehicle Vulture XIII-Sc had its maiden flight last Wednesday, delivering 3 telecommunications satellites into geosynchronous orbit around Earth. The rocket was jointly developed by the CYNSC along with several other prominent aerospace companies, using newly-developed advanced technology such 12 high-powered nuclear rocket engines for its first stage and new forms of lightweight and strong composite materials. It can deliver a whopping 150,000 kg of payload to low-earth orbit and almost 100,000 kg into geosynchronous orbit. With this new technology, Cand Youkeons has gained a significant upper hand in the space industry, since numerous satellites can be launched at the same time, cutting down on costs tremendously and allowing more companies access to outer space. We here at CYNSC wish to express our gratitude to all the organisations and experts who helped us in designing this masterpiece, allowing us to reach new heights never attained before.

The next launch of the rocket will be in 2 month's time, when the core module of the new modular space station will be launched into orbit along with a crew capsule.

Ling Ching accepts Cand Youkeons offer.

Being a new nation, Ling Ching has no experience in the fields of space research. We would like to use this opportunity to broaden our research areas and build stronger ties with other nations. At the same time, since Ling Ching is an extremely poor country, we would be funding as much as possible, to our full potential. The dictator has allocated 0.5% of annual funds to this Space Initiative.

The UACSA (United Alironese Coorporation for Space Activities) is established between the states of Cand Youkeons and Ling Ching. This shall mark a new era for space exploration, and the beginning of our quest to dominate the skies above. Cand Youkeons has also invited Gabbard to participate in this alliance.

Cslymy proposes a treaty limiting military uses of the space projects of all nations to almost 0.

We reject this treaty. Its not up to you pigs to decide what I should do with my space technology.

Please watch your language. The treaty was for the sake of world peace, and to prevent a global arms race to allow funds to be used in a way to benefit the citizens instead.

Since this is the case, Cslymy is open with working with all other countries to collaborate on space military equipment to reduce the strain on each of our individual countries, while having a sufficient military force in space to deter attacks from hostile nations. A treaty will be signed within all the agreeable nations where a declaration of war against one is a declaration of war against all.
