MIC RP #005c: A New Frontier - United Alironese Coorporation for Space Activities

The launch of the lab module of the Cand Youkeons Modular Space Station, the Mirasa, will be a great first step for the UACSA. It will be launched at the Jharsra Space Centre in Czersul, Cand Youkeons, on board a Vulture XIII-Sc Superheavy launch vehicle, together with a Crew Capsule with astronauts. Upon arrival in an orbit 350km above the surface of the Earth, the crew capsule will dock with the lab and the crew will commence the starting up procedures.

In the meantime, Cand Youkeons will send some scientists and experts to Ling Ching with the aim of kickstarting their space programme by helping the Ling Chingians develop their first rocket.

The lab module has been in space for over a month now and things are going smoothly. The UACSA plans to launch three more modules: a habitation module, a greenhouse module and a nuclear-powered electric generator into space, providing more living space for astronauts and also allowing the station to produce their own food, which will decrease the number of supply rockets needed. Furthermore, artificial gravity shall be provided by rotating the entire space station around a central axis, and this shall mimic gravity down on Moradaland. A fleet of 15 satellites will also be put in orbit to facilitate high-speed internet at the station, while also improving communication with mission control on the surface.

Worrying advances made by the Norderon Space Initiative has also prompted the Youkeonian Government to speed up space programs, including the construction of the first permanent human colony on the moon. The moon station shall incorporate many technologies built upon the success of the Mirasa Space Station, and will be able to support up to 200 astronauts at any one time. Transportation to and from Earth will be provided with a fleet of next-generation space shuttles powered by advanced ion drive systems. Construction of the station modules will commence immediately, and we aim to complete the moon station in 6 months time. After the station is finished, mining for minerals on the moon's surface will start. The plentiful raw materials there will help propel our ambitions to conquer outer space.

The Asteroid Mining project is currently being developed alongside the Moon Colony project. Asteroids are known for their high content of precious metals such as gold and platinum and also other valuable metals such as nickel, and having an almost infinite supply of these resources will be extremely beneficial to our nation. The plan drafted by the team consists of launching a probe at a Near-Earth asteroid, landing the probe on the asteroid, firing the probe's engines to change the orbit of the asteroid such that it goes into orbit around Earth, and finally launching mining robots which will carve apart the asteroid and re-entry into Earth.
